'Tu Jhoom' is a womenswear everyday luxury digitally printed collection rooted from the Konyak tribes of Nagaland.

Using fluid silhouettes, bold colors and even bolder artwork compositions to curate one of a kind print pieces paying homage to the last of the head hunters of the country.

Away is a travel capsule done under Tu Jhoom consisting stylised sarees and everyday ethnic pieces for the women of India.

Design process

After deeply studying the tribe, and the core team visiting Ziro valley & the Hornbill festival in Nagaland. We had sufficient insight on how the tales of these tribe's heroic persuits can move mountains. We converted those stories into kitch inspired prints using the flora and fauna of the region and incoperated the signature vibrant 3 colors of the Konyak tribe - Red,yellow & blue.

Using the prints as the canvas, we played with fluid fabics such as georgette and tissue and blended them into dramatic sleeves, flowing flared bottoms and layered silhouettes.

The embellishments were copper lace and the beadwork inspired by the utensils & vast acessories that they dorn as part of their culture.
